A working meeting between specialists from the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held in Urgench. This was reported by the press service of the Turkmenistan Customs Service.

The main purpose of the visit was to conduct a comparative analysis of foreign trade statistics between the two countries. The Turkmen delegation was led by the Head of the customs statistics department of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.

The event was held as part of the implementation of the Protocol on the mutual exchange of information on the movement of goods in mutual trade between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, signed on 14 July 2022 in Tashkent.

During the meeting, experts compared data on imports and exports of various product categories to identify and assess possible discrepancies. This made it possible to compile agreed and mutually verified sets of statistical data on trade between the two countries.
