Sunway University and the Embassy of Turkmenistan join forces for the benefit of students

On 8 October, Muhammetniyaz Mashalov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Malaysia, held a meeting with professors, lecturers and students of Sunway University. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The Dean of the Business School of Sunway University, Honorary Professor Lim Weng Marc, thanked the embassy for organising the meeting and spoke about the university's work with foreign students. He noted that there are currently more than 250 Turkmen students studying at the university and expressed his intention to expand cooperation.

In turn, the Turkmen side thanked the university for its support of students, emphasising the attention paid to their educational issues by the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The meeting also discussed Turkmenistan's UN-recognised status of permanent neutrality, the declaration of 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust, and preparations for an international forum in Ashgabat in December 2025.
