The official visit of Russian Foreign Affairs Minister Sergey Lavrov to Turkmenistan concluded with a comprehensive programme aimed at strengthening bilateral relations. In addition to key talks at the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Turkmenistan, where a Cooperation Programme for 2025–2026 was signed, the Head of the Russian Foreign Affairs Ministry held a meeting with representatives of Turkmen society. This was reported by the IIC.

At the ‘Ýyldyz’ hotel, Sergey Lavrov met with diplomats, teachers and students of the Institute of International Relations of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Turkmenistan. This meeting emphasised the importance of inter-state cooperation, as well as the need to develop academic and expert dialogue between the two countries.

The visit demonstrated the desire of Russia and Turkmenistan to deepen their multifaceted partnership, including political, economic and humanitarian cooperation. The signed Cooperation Programme between the Foreign Affairs Ministries laid a solid foundation for further interaction in the international arena.
