President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, who arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in the International Forum dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the country’s permanent neutrality, AsmanNews reports.
At the beginning, the sides exchanged greetings. The President of Turkmenistan noted the significance of the Tajik delegation’s participation in the forum, where issues of regional and global security are being discussed.
Emomali Rahmon expressed his gratitude for the reception and emphasized that the upcoming Forum will serve as a platform for determining further steps to strengthen peace and trust.
The parties noted that relations between Turkmenistan and Tajikistan have been actively developing in recent years. Regular high-level contacts have enhanced the dynamics of cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats.
Special attention was given to the trade and economic sector, which the sides called a priority area. The role of humanitarian ties, supporting sustainable intergovernmental dialogue, was also highlighted.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the presidents confirmed their readiness to further strengthen the partnership and wished the peoples of both countries peace and prosperity.
