The President of Turkmenistan and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the country’s Armed Forces, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, has signed a Decree ‘On the pardon of convicted persons in honour of the sacred Night of Power’. This was reported by the website AsmanNews.

The document was adopted in accordance with the principles of mercy and humanism, and with a view to strengthening the cohesion of Turkmen society and family values. Under the Decree, the pardoned citizens are released from further serving their main sentence of imprisonment.
