On November 5, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov departed on a working visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan to participate in a meeting of the heads of Central Asian states within the framework of the Aqaba Process on Artificial Intelligence Safety. This was reported by the TDH news agency.

At Ashgabat International Airport, officials of Turkmenistan saw off the head of state.

Turkmen-Kazakh relations are based on centuries-old bonds of friendship, shared cultural and spiritual values, as well as the principles of mutual respect. The main areas of bilateral cooperation remain trade and economic relations, as well as transport and transit. The Kazakhstan–Turkmenistan–Iran railway, which connects Europe, Asia and the Middle East, plays an important role in the development of regional logistics.

Established in 2015, the Aqaba Process serves as an international platform for discussing contemporary challenges with the participation of heads of state, experts and representatives of technology companies. At present, the initiative places particular emphasis on protecting the digital space, cybersecurity and regulating the field of artificial intelligence. The upcoming meeting in Astana will mark another stage in regional cooperation in these areas.

A few hours later, Serdar Berdimuhamedov's plane arrived at Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport in Astana. The airport was decorated with the State Flags of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan. An honour guard was lined up on both sides of the red carpet.

At the airport, the President of Turkmenistan was welcomed by Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov, Kazakh officials and members of the official delegation of Turkmenistan.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov's working visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan is continuing.
