President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated his compatriots and dog breeders on the Turkmen Alabay Day, calling it a symbol of national heritage and spiritual values of the people. This was reported by the state news agency TDH.

The Head of State emphasised that the Alabay, which has retained its original appearance, has become a symbol of loyalty, strength and beauty, as well as a contribution of the Turkmen people to world culture.

The President of Turkmenistan noted that all conditions for the development of national dog breeding have been created at this time. According to Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the creation of the International Association ‘Türkmen Alabaý Itleri’ and the specialised magazine ‘Türkmeniň nusgalyk alabaýy’ contributes to the strengthening of international cooperation and the popularisation of Turkmen Alabays in the world.

The Head of State recalled that the annual holiday is accompanied by competitions and contests demonstrating the achievements of domestic dog breeders.
