Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Husnullin called the city of Arkadag a world-class project that was implemented in a short period of time. He made this statement following a meeting of the Turkmen-Russian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, according to the news website Turkmenportal.
In 2027, about 65,000 people will live in Arkadag, 30,000 of whom will work in the city itself. M. Husnullin noted the comprehensive approach to development, combining housing, a special economic zone, a technology park and an educational cluster.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasised the introduction of ‘smart’ city elements and the high level of social infrastructure provision. According to the official, special attention has been paid to greening, with green spaces occupying 45% of the territory.
During his visit to Turkmenistan, M. Husnullin also visited the Aba Annayev International Academy of Horse Breeding, the city circus and the Türkmenbaşy Ruhy Mosque in the village of Gypjak, noting their architecture and high level of execution.
