Dmitry Konstantinov, Director General of the ROSATOM State Corporation's representative office in Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan, gave a presentation at the CIET 2025 International Conference, according to the online news resource TerraNews.

In his speech, Mr Konstantinov spoke about the prospects for the development of nuclear energy in Central Asia, emphasising the importance of consistent and low-carbon energy sources.

He noted that the nuclear industry is being discussed in the context of ensuring energy security and achieving decarbonisation goals, despite Turkmenistan's rich gas resources.

The potential of nuclear technologies, including small modular reactors (SMRs), was also presented, and their role in maintaining a sustainable energy balance alongside traditional and renewable energy sources was emphasised.

ROSATOM's participation in CIET 2025 demonstrates the corporation's readiness for open dialogue on the safe and responsible introduction of nuclear technologies in the region.
