The Rosatom State Corporation presented projects in the field of nuclear energy and high technologies at the international CIET-2026 exhibition in Ashgabat. The centerpiece of the exhibition was a model of a combined nuclear power plant integrating large- and small-capacity units, the Turkmenportal news website reports.

The stand also features developments in nuclear medicine, additive technologies, composite materials and specialist training.

As Dmitry Konstantinov, Deputy Director General of Rosatom's representative office in Central Asia, explained, participation in the exhibition is aimed at familiarizing Turkmen partners with the state corporation's technologies in nuclear energy and related industries.

- Nuclear energy is, first and foremost, an industry that encompasses not only the energy sector but also science and education. Personnel training is an integral part of nuclear energy, Konstantinov noted.

According to the Rosatom representative, of the 31 export power units currently under construction abroad, 27 are being built by the Russian side. Five countries that have embarked on nuclear power plant construction have chosen Russian technologies: Turkey, Bangladesh, Egypt and Uzbekistan. Kazakhstan may join them in the near future.

The model on display demonstrates an integrated nuclear power plant with two large-capacity units of 1,000 MW each and two small-capacity units of 55 MW each. This configuration makes it possible to flexibly regulate electricity generation and adapt the project to the needs of the power system.

Konstantinov noted that small modular nuclear power plants could become the first stage in the development of nuclear energy for countries with relatively small power systems.

The International Exhibition and Conference "Development of the Construction, Industrial, Chemical and Energy Sectors of Turkmenistan" (CIET-2026) is taking place in Ashgabat from November 3 to 5. The forum has brought together more than 800 delegates from 60 countries and is timed to coincide with Turkmenistan's Day of Workers of the Construction and Industrial Complex.
