Representatives of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan participate in a seminar in Beijing

Representatives of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan are taking part in the seminar titled “Enhancing the Role of Legislative Bodies and Strengthening China–Central Asia Cooperation,” which is being held in Beijing from June 22 to 28. This was reported by the press service of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan.
The event is organized by the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China for deputies from Central Asian countries.
The aim of the seminar is to develop inter-parliamentary cooperation between Central Asian countries and the People’s Republic of China, to exchange experience in the legislative sphere, discuss issues of regional cooperation, as well as to coordinate development strategies and expand economic interaction in light of global economic trends.
During his speech, a representative of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan noted that strategic cooperation between Turkmenistan and the People’s Republic of China is steadily developing and is based on the principles of mutual respect, trust, and equality. The importance of regional events, meetings, and forums was emphasized as platforms for discussing areas of cooperation and strengthening inter-parliamentary ties between Central Asian countries and China.
Participants of the seminar noted the growing role of parliamentary diplomacy in ensuring peace, stability, and effective cooperation in the region. It was emphasized that the event creates opportunities for exchanging experience in legislative and parliamentary activities, as well as for developing contacts between young and women parliamentarians.
