New prospects for Turkmen-Pakistani partnership discussed in Islamabad

On 3 October, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Pakistan hosted a meeting with a delegation from the Pakistan Regional Economic Forum (PREF) led by the forum's Chairman, Haroon Sharif. This was reported by the press service of the Turkmen diplomatic mission.

Atajan Movlamov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, presented the country's foreign policy priorities, its energy potential and logistical capabilities, emphasising the importance of joint projects to meet Pakistan's energy needs and strengthen regional integration.

The Head of the diplomatic mission also noted the significance of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, which took place in the ‘Avaza’ National Tourist Zone.

The Pakistani side expressed interest in expanding cooperation in energy, trade and transport, emphasising the role of the private sector in developing partnerships.

The parties agreed to more actively involve businesses and companies from both countries in joint projects, including participation in exhibitions, the creation of joint ventures and the expansion of investment and trade cooperation.
