A meeting of the Council of Permanent Representatives of the Commonwealth Member States to the CIS’s statutory and other bodies was held in Minsk. The participants discussed issues of inter-state cooperation, including the development of tourism in the Commonwealth countries, according to IIC.

The main focus of the meeting was the activities of the CIS Council on Tourism for the period 2022–2025. The parties discussed the development of tourism infrastructure, improving the quality of services, joint projects and staff training.

They also reviewed the results of implementing the Concept for Turkmenistan’s CIS Chairmanship in the first half of 2026 and prepared draft agendas for the meetings of the Council of Foreign Affairs Ministers and the Council of Heads of State of the CIS, which are to be held in Turkmenistan in October.

In addition, the participants discussed issues relating to digitalisation and information and communication technologies, and agreed on the candidates for the Heads of the CIS observer missions to the parliamentary elections in Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation.
