In 2026, Turkmenistan became a venue for a number of international conferences, exhibitions and business forums, bringing together representatives of government agencies, international organizations, financial institutions and major companies. The events covered key areas of the economy — from the agro-industrial complex and textile industry to energy, construction, healthcare and investment.
Holding such meetings reflects the country's desire to expand international economic cooperation, attract investment, introduce foreign partners to the country's national production potential and create conditions for implementing joint projects.
One of the first major industry events was the international exhibition «Agro Pack Turkmenistan – 2026», held in May at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. The exhibition was dedicated to the agro-industrial complex, agricultural product processing, packaging technologies and modern equipment. Such platforms are particularly important for developing industrial cooperation, introducing new technologies and expanding opportunities for domestic enterprises.

In May, the XXV International Universal Exhibition and Conference «White City Ashgabat», organized by the capital’s hyakimlik jointly with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, also took place. The event served as a platform for presenting architectural and urban development projects, modern construction solutions and opportunities for developing urban infrastructure. The exhibition also helped establish business contacts between Turkmen and foreign companies.
The textile industry occupied an important place on the business agenda. In June, the international exhibition and trade fair «Turkmentextile Expo–2026» was held in Ashgabat. Participants presented the industry’s products, new production solutions and technologies. For Turkmen enterprises, the event provided an opportunity to demonstrate product quality, study international experience and expand cooperation with foreign manufacturers and suppliers.

In July, a Turkmen-Uzbek Business Forum was held in Ashgabat, aimed at promoting trade, economic and investment cooperation. The event brought together more than 20 leading companies from each country. Particular attention was paid to industrial cooperation, construction, and the production of equipment and building materials. The business programme included B2B and G2B meetings focused on discussing joint projects and concluding contracts.
In August, the international exhibition and fair “Kids Expo: Everything for Children” took place. It brought together Turkmen and foreign companies operating in the fields of children's and teenagers' goods, education and upbringing. In addition to showcasing products, the exhibition provided participants with an opportunity to exchange experience and establish new business contacts.
The September Exhibition of Economic Achievements of Turkmenistan was dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the country's independence. The exhibition showcased the progress of the national economy, industry and other sectors. Events of this kind not only highlight the country's production capabilities but also provide foreign partners with a more comprehensive understanding of the key areas of Turkmenistan's economic development.

One of the key events on Turkmenistan’s investment agenda was the Investment Forum of Turkmenistan, which opened in Ashgabat on 1 October. The forum was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Finance and Economy of the country. It brought together representatives of government agencies, international financial institutions, organizations and major companies. The discussions focused on Turkmenistan’s investment potential, the business environment and opportunities for foreign partners to participate in economic projects.
In October, the international agenda continued with events in the healthcare sector. Ashgabat hosted an exhibition and scientific conference entitled “Healthcare, Education and Sports in the Era of the Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State”. The event brought together representatives of medical institutions, research organizations, educational institutions and foreign partners. The main areas of focus included the exchange of scientific and practical expertise, the presentation of modern medical advances and the development of international cooperation in healthcare.
An important event for the energy sector was the 31st International Conference and Exhibition “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan – 2026”, which opened on 21 October. The platform was designed to strengthen ties with international oil and gas companies and financial institutions, discuss new projects, promote innovative technologies and expand energy cooperation.

In early November, the international exhibition and conference “Development of the Construction, Industrial, Chemical and Energy Sectors of Turkmenistan” brought together around 800 delegates from nearly 60 countries. Discussions focused on modern technologies, industrial modernization, investment opportunities and prospects for international cooperation. The event provided another platform for showcasing the potential of the national economy and establishing business contacts with foreign companies.
Overall, the international conferences and forums held in 2026 demonstrated the multifaceted nature of Turkmenistan’s foreign economic relations. Each event focused on a particular sector, while sharing common objectives: attracting foreign partners, exchanging technologies, promoting industrial cooperation and identifying new investment opportunities.
The regular organization of such events helps create favourable conditions for direct dialogue between government agencies, businesses and international organizations. In the longer term, practical outcomes of this cooperation could include new investment projects, contracts, joint ventures and an expansion of the geographical scope of the country’s trade and economic relations.
