On 25 August, during a telephone conversation with the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, noted the effective work of the Turkmen observers during the elections for deputies to the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This was reported by the news agency ‘Turkmenistan: Golden age’.

The President of Kazakhstan emphasised that the Turkmen observers had actively participated in the preparation and conduct of the elections to the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan and had objectively assessed the results. According to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the election results fully comply with national legislation and international standards.

The President of Kazakhstan also expressed particular gratitude for the Turkmen side’s participation in observing the electoral process and noted the significance of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov’s congratulations on the occasion of the elections.

During the conversation, confidence was also expressed in the further strengthening of inter-parliamentary ties and Kazakhstani-Turkmen relations.
