Japanese expert gave a lecture on traditional crafts for Turkmen students

Yuki Tokunaga, a specialist from Tokyo University in Japan and founder of the ‘Culpedia’ portal, gave a lecture on ‘Japanese Culture from the Perspective of Traditional Crafts’ to students and teachers at the Turkmen State Institute of Culture. This was reported by the news website Turkmenportal.

The specialist is known for his research and projects on the preservation of traditional crafts and intangible cultural heritage, as well as his lectures on cultural exchange and strengthening international friendship. His presentations on the revival of disappearing crafts are of particular interest to young people.

Following the lecture, the expert noted the high level of interest among Turkmen students in world culture. He also attended a performance by the ‘Miras’ folk-dance ensemble, familiarised himself with the practical classes of the Department of Restoration and Museum Studies, and showed interest in the exhibition of national artefacts.
