President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev sent a letter to President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The Azerbaijani Head of State noted the importance of cooperation with Central Asian countries based on common historical and cultural ties, TDH reports.

Ilham Aliyev thanked Serdar Berdimuhamedov for supporting the decision to include Azerbaijan in the Consultative Meeting of Central Asian Heads of State as a full member. This decision was made at the 7th meeting of regional leaders in Tashkent. According to him, Baku's participation confirms the friendly nature of relations and opens up opportunities for expanding cooperation.

The letter emphasises that the consultations and decisions of the meeting demonstrated the desire of the states of the region to develop cooperation in politics, economics, transport, energy, security and the humanitarian sphere.

Ilham Aliyev expressed confidence that the results of the meeting will strengthen multilateral partnership, reinforce ties between countries and support sustainable development in the region.

In conclusion, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan wished the President of Turkmenistan good health and success, and the people of the country peace and prosperity.
