The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on behalf of the Turkmen people and the Halk Maslahaty congratulated President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on World Bicycle Day. The Hero Arkadag noted that this international holiday symbolises peace, friendship and solidarity, and opens opportunities for strengthening international sports cooperation. It was emphasised that under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan, cycling is actively developing in the country: modern facilities have been built, including a cycle track in Ashgabat and the Bicycle Monument, and achievements have been recorded in the Guinness Book of Records.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov recalled the international resolutions adopted on Turkmenistan's initiative and also noted the recognition of the country's sporting successes, including the victory of the ‘Arkadag’ football club in the AFC Challenge League. The National Leader of the Turkmen people stressed that Turkmenistan's sports cooperation with international organisations is reaching a new level, strengthening the country's authority in the world arena.
