The latest session of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan is currently taking place in Ashgabat. During the session, a representative of the country’s military and law enforcement agencies noted that the achievements of the sovereign state are based on the principle: ‘The Motherland is only a Motherland with its people! The State is only a State with its people!’, according to the IIC.

In his address, he spoke about the ongoing modernisation of the material and technical base of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan and the strengthening of their defence capabilities. Among the significant events, he highlighted the holding of a ceremonial military parade and the establishment by the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, of an anniversary medal in recognition of the valiant service of the defenders of the Fatherland.

A representative of the economic sector delivered a separate report on the country’s industrial and logistical potential.

He noted the measures being taken to remove obstacles to transit transport, expand the capacity of transport routes and develop logistics services. These initiatives contribute to the expansion of international transport corridors and foreign trade links.

Particular attention was paid in the presentation to the development of the industrial and energy sectors. The number of modern industrial enterprises in the country is increasing, and new jobs are being created.

It was also noted that Turkmenistan meets its domestic electricity needs and is increasing its electricity exports. The development of mineral and hydrocarbon resources is contributing to the further diversification of production and the manufacture of domestic goods.
