Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted the importance of the UN conference in Avaza

On 5 August, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, spoke at a ceremony held as part of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC 3), which is taking place in the ‘Avaza’ National Tourist Zone. This was reported by the state news agency TDH.

Hero Arkadag warmly welcomed the participants on behalf of the people of Turkmenistan and expressed gratitude for their attention to the forum, calling the broad representation a sign of respect and trust towards the country.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasised the importance of the conference as part of long-standing efforts to strengthen the role of developing countries and called for the development of new effective approaches to solving the problems of landlocked countries.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people thanked UN Secretary-General António Guterres and UN structures for their support, noting that Turkmenistan considers cooperation with the UN a strategic priority of its foreign policy. According to him, the country coordinates its international activities with the goals and decisions of the UN.

The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty also noted that the UN is a guarantor of global peace and stability for Turkmenistan, and that holding the Conference in neutral Turkmenistan in the Year of Peace and Trust is of particular importance.

In connection with the 30th anniversary of the international recognition of the country's neutrality, Hero Arkadag recalled that Turkmenistan considers this status as a contribution to the common good and a platform for dialogue and mutual understanding.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasised the country's readiness to actively participate in addressing global challenges, from sustainable development to security and humanitarian cooperation. He called for the development of coordinated, strategic approaches to partnership.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people also noted the importance of public diplomacy, inter-parliamentary, youth, women's and cultural ties, expressing support for the holding of relevant thematic events within the framework of the Conference.

In conclusion, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty expressed hope that the forum would serve as a basis for effective interaction and strengthening of international cooperation, and wished its participants success in achieving their common goals.
