At a meeting with representatives of the media, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, expressed his deep gratitude to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, for accepting the invitation to the trilateral meeting. This was reported by the state news agency TDH.

The Hero Arkadag emphasised that the negotiation was a historically important event, during which topical issues of strengthening cooperation were discussed, including the most significant aspects of the political, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan pursue a fair and open policy not only in the region but also in the international arena, including within the framework of the UN. According to the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, the basis of this policy is mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit, and its main goal is to strengthen peace and prosperity in the region and in the world as a whole.

Touching upon economic issues, the Hero Arkadag pointed to the great potential of the three countries to give new impetus to the realisation of geo-economic interests in Eurasia. The successful experience of cooperation in the electric power sector was cited as an example, and prospects for strategic cooperation in the gas sector were outlined.

Special attention was paid to the transport sector. Berdimuhamedov emphasised the existence of broad opportunities for the active use of the infrastructure potential of transport corridors connecting Asia and Europe along the Great Silk Road route. At the same time, he noted the importance of the effective use of the transit potential of Central Asia and the Caspian region.

According to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, the parties reached agreements on creating favourable conditions for expanding humanitarian ties between the peoples of the three brotherly countries. Cooperation will be developed in areas such as science, education, healthcare, sports, culture, art, carpet weaving, horse breeding and others.

Summing up, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that today's meeting opens up new opportunities and creates all the conditions for achieving the goals facing the countries. The Hero Arkadag also wished peace and prosperity to the peoples of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, expressing his gratitude to Ilham Aliyev and Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
