The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, congratulated the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, on International Neutrality Day and the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the UN General Assembly Resolution “Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan,” AsmanNews reports.

The statement noted that the status of permanent neutrality remains a key principle of the country’s domestic and foreign policy and contributes to the expansion of cooperation with states and international organizations.

The Hero Arkadag emphasized that Turkmenistan’s neutrality policy enjoys broad support. He recalled the unanimous re-adoption of the UN General Assembly Resolution “Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan,” timed to coincide with the anniversary.

The message also mentioned events held on the eve of the holiday: the opening of the Neutrality Zone and the holding of an international forum dedicated to International Neutrality Day and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted Turkmenistan’s initiatives in strengthening regional dialogue, including the UN General Assembly resolutions “Central Asia: Zone of Peace, Trust and Cooperation” (2022) and “Treaty on a Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone in Central Asia” (2024).
