President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated environmental workers and all compatriots on World Environment Day. This was reported by the state news agency TDH.
The Head of State noted that the Turkmen people have long lived in harmony with nature, treating it with care. The country is implementing programmes for greening, nature conservation and environmental well-being, as well as reforms to create a clean and safe living environment.
The President of Turkmenistan emphasised that Turkmenistan's environmental policy is aimed at rational use of natural resources, conservation and enrichment of nature, and the transfer of its wealth to future generations.
Achievements were noted in the development of the Avaza National Tourist Zone, the creation of the Altyn Asyr Lake in Turkmenistan, and measures to protect rare species of flora and fauna. The President stressed the importance of international cooperation and the country's commitment to global environmental initiatives, including the fight against climate change and the development of a ‘green’ economy.
