Last week, a series of events dedicated to the country's Independence Day took place in Turkmenistan. This was reported by the state news agency TDH.

A modern glass factory with a capacity of 100 tonnes per day, equipped with equipment from leading global companies, opened in the Ahal velayat. The enterprise will reduce production costs, create jobs and expand export opportunities.

A new village, Dovletli Mekan, has also been commissioned in the region, with residential buildings, a school, a kindergarten, a shopping centre and modern infrastructure. Similar projects have been implemented in the village of Bitaraplyk, where 400 houses, social and cultural facilities, as well as new road bridges have been built.

On 10 September, cotton harvesting began, with round-the-clock maintenance of equipment and working conditions for machine operators provided.

On 12 September, a new complex of buildings for the ‘Sarahs’ border guard detachment was opened in the Ahal velayat, with modern barracks, a medical unit, residential buildings and sports infrastructure.

In addition, Ashgabat hosted the XXVI Conference of the Humanitarian Association of World Turkmens, as well as the opening of the renovated park ‘XV Years of Independence of Turkmenistan’.

These events were further confirmation of the course towards industrialisation, social development of the regions and improvement of living conditions for the population.
