FAO seminar on SDG indicators held in Turkmenistan

From 10 to 13 June, an online seminar on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is being held at the State Committee for Statistics of Turkmenistan, organised by the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) in collaboration with the Office of the United Nations Resident Coordinator in the country. This was reported by the news website Asmannews.

The seminar aims to strengthen the statistical capacity of relevant ministries in the implementation of the roadmap for strengthening monitoring and reporting on the achievement of the SDGs for 2025-2027. Participants are discussing international data collection and analysis methodologies, as well as issues related to the harmonisation of national statistics with global standards.

The event is attended by representatives of the State Veterinary Service under the Ministry of Agriculture, the State Committee on Statistics, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Finance and Economy, the State Committee on Water Management and other relevant institutions of Turkmenistan.

The seminar contributes to strengthening inter-agency cooperation and promoting the principles of sustainable development enshrined in the UN Agenda for 2030.
