Dragon Oil plans to increase production at the Çeleken contract area to 200,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day by 2030 and continue operating in Turkmenistan beyond 2035. Arzuw.news reports this, citing the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.

Dragon Oil is part of ENOC, which is owned by the Government of Dubai, and has been operating in Turkmenistan since May 2000. Over this period, the company’s investments in the country have approached $12 billion, while cumulative oil production from its Caspian Sea fields has exceeded 490 million barrels.

Dragon Oil’s Turkmenistan operations employ around 2,200 people, 93% of whom are Turkmen citizens. The company has also funded more than 200 projects in healthcare, education and culture.

To improve operational efficiency, Dragon Oil uses artificial intelligence to optimize its marine fleet operations and deploys drones to inspect wells.

Bilateral trade between Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates reached $1.7 billion in 2025. Dragon Oil Chief Executive Officer Abdulkarim Al Maazmi noted that cooperation with the Government of Turkmenistan and the state concern Türkmennebit remains one of the company’s key priorities.
