On June 23, 2025, the delegation of Turkmenistan began a familiarization visit to the Federal Republic of Germany. It included representatives of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Energy and the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan. The trip takes place from June 23 to 28 as part of the project ‘European Union for Green Development of Turkmenistan’, organized by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), the press service of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan reports.

According to the source, the main purpose of the visit was to develop partnership between the Ministry of Energy, the State Concern ‘Turkmengaz’ and GIZ within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed on 14 May 2024.

On the first day, meetings were held with representatives of the German Federal Foreign Office (Auswärtiges Amt) and the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action. The talks focused on energy security, sustainable development, innovation in renewable energy sources and energy efficiency.

The delegation also visited the German Federal Ministry of Science, Technology and Space, where negotiations were held on education and science policy, research funding and academic exchange programs.
