Last week, 48 deals worth over US$2.2 million and 1.1 billion manats were made at the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan. The main buyers were entrepreneurs from the UAE, Turkey, Afghanistan, and Kyrgyzstan, as well as companies from Turkmenistan. This was reported by IIC.

Foreign businessmen purchased petrochemical products, including base oil, petroleum bitumen (produced by the ‘Türkmennebit’ State Concern) and liquefied gas (from the ‘Türkmenhimiýa’ State Concern). In addition, there was significant demand for textiles – terry products, cotton fabrics and yarn, with the total volume of export transactions exceeding $2.28 million.

Local companies actively purchased polypropylene, petroleum coke, technical carbon, iodine and potassium chloride. Cotton fibre, denim fabric and licorice root extract were also sold, with the total turnover of domestic transactions amounting to 1.13 billion manat.

These results confirm the steady demand for Turkmen petrochemical and textile products on both international and domestic markets.
