From 16 to 18 September, the UNFPA office in Turkmenistan organised a training course for chemotherapists and gynaecological oncologists from all regions of the country. This was reported by the news website Turkmenportal.

Participants learned about modern methods of treating cervical cancer, breast cancer and other types of cancer. The training was conducted by UNFPA international consultant Bruce Oliver Hough, an American oncologist.

The event was part of the UNFPA's cooperation programme with the Government of Turkmenistan, aimed at developing the healthcare system and improving the qualifications of specialists in the field of reproductive health.
