On 27 October, consultations were held in Moscow between the foreign affairs ministries of Turkmenistan and Russia on countering modern challenges and threats. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The Turkmen delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Ahmet Gurbanov, and the Russian delegation by Deputy Foreign Minister Dmitry Lyubinsky. The meeting took place as part of the implementation of the 2025-2026 Cooperation Programme between the foreign ministries of the two countries, signed in June.
The parties exchanged assessments of current global and regional threats, including the situation in Afghanistan and Central Asia, and discussed strengthening cooperation in the field of security. Particular attention was paid to cooperation in combating new challenges, including in international formats.
The participants noted the importance of exchanging experience and enhancing the capacity of state bodies in the field of information security. They confirmed their readiness for further foreign policy coordination and maintaining regular working contacts.
