On 2 September, a cultural event organised by the Pakistani diplomatic mission was held at the ‘Ýyldyz’ Hotel in Ashgabat. The evening, dedicated to the music and culinary traditions of Pakistan, brought together diplomats, journalists and representatives of cultural circles, according to the Orient news agency.

This was one of the first official events under the leadership of the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Pakistan to Turkmenistan, Faryal Leghari, who took office a month ago.

Guests were greeted by an exhibition of folk crafts and modern Pakistani companies, symbolically combining historical heritage and economic prospects. In her address, Faryal Leghari emphasised the friendly ties between the two countries, noted the spiritual closeness of their cultures and proposed expanding cooperation through joint festivals, exhibitions and exchanges.

Her words were echoed by the Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan, Atageldi Shamyradov, who expressed his confidence in the further development of humanitarian ties.

The programme included performances by musicians and a gastronomic part: guests tasted traditional dishes such as samosa, malai boti, biryani, kebab and korma. The evening was a vivid example of how culture and cuisine can serve as instruments of diplomacy and mutual understanding.
