At the international exhibition ‘Expo Prado 2025’ in Uruguay, an Ahal-Teke stallion from Turkmenistan was awarded the highest title of Grand Champion. The six-year-old horse was recognised as the best among the participants of the prestigious show. This was reported by IIC.

The competition judge, Fernando Perdigon, particularly noted the Turkmen stallion's impeccable compliance with breed standards and its strong bone structure. The horse's owner, Gustavo Dos Santos, emphasised that the Ahal-Teke breed remains an exotic rarity for the entire South American region.

The breeder noted the successful work on adapting Ahal-Tekes to modern sports disciplines, including show jumping, dressage and eventing. According to him, these horses are distinguished by their quick trainability and expressive gaits, which makes them promising for professional equestrian sports. The victory of the Turkmen horse was a significant event for the popularisation of the breed in Latin America.
