From 12 to 14 November, Ashgabat hosted the 18th International Exhibition and Scientific Conference ‘Türkmentel–2025’ and the forum ‘International Transport and Transit Corridors: Interconnection and Development–2025’, reports AsmanNews.

On the sidelines of the events, Artur Andrysiak, Director of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Permanent Mission in Turkmenistan, spoke about the bank's current projects in the country. He noted that the ADB has been cooperating with Turkmenistan for 25 years, supporting the development of infrastructure, transport, energy and healthcare.

Currently, the bank is working with the Turkmenistan government to implement projects to modernise railway infrastructure and human capital development programmes. Agreements have recently been signed on new infrastructure projects, including the construction of a secondary medical school in Ashgabat, which, according to A. Andrysiak, will make an important contribution to the country's healthcare system.

He also emphasised the strategic importance of Turkmenistan in the North-South and East-West transport corridors, noting the ADB's readiness to continue supporting projects in these areas.
