On October 26, a meeting was held at the State Museum of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan with American scholar Daniel Weiss, who arrived in the country to conduct professional development courses on the digitization and documentation of museum collections. This was reported by Turkmenportal.

During the meeting, Daniel Weiss presented a report entitled «Information and Digitization» and shared his personal experience to illustrate the role of digital technologies in preserving museum collections.

Before the event, the scholar familiarized himself with the museum's historical and archaeological exhibits. He noted the scientific value of the artifacts on display and the use of maps, drawings and reference materials in the exhibitions.

The scholar's visit is taking place with the support of the Fulbright grant program, funded by the US government. The trip also includes planned visits to historical and cultural monuments in Turkmenistan.
