On 27 June, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a Decree establishing the International University of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. This was reported by the state news agency TDH.

The decision was made as part of the implementation of the ‘Programme of the President of Turkmenistan for the Socio-Economic Development of the Country in 2022-2028’ and is aimed at supporting the business sector and developing a system for training qualified personnel.

According to the document, the decision of the Board of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan to establish a new higher education institution has been approved. The Ministry of Education has been instructed to provide comprehensive support in organisational and legal matters, including the development of the charter, licensing and state accreditation in accordance with the established procedure.

The new university will train specialists in accordance with international educational standards. The start of student enrolment is scheduled for the 2025–2026 academic year. It is also planned to attract foreign teachers and experts to improve the quality of the educational process.

It is planned to determine the areas of training, approve curricula and tuition fees.
