On March 27, a Japanese cuisine evening will take place at the “MOMO Panasian” restaurant in Ashgabat. The event is organized with the support of the Embassy of Japan in Turkmenistan and aims to promote the country’s cultural traditions, reports the news site Asmannews.
During the evening, guests will be introduced to the philosophy of Japanese gastronomy, which is included on UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list. Participants will learn about the significance of seasonal ingredients, principles for preserving their natural flavors, and the particularities of dish presentation. In addition, the organizers will demonstrate how the process of preparing food in Japanese culture takes on artistic and spiritual meaning.
The event will be held in a private format—entry is by invitation only. The initiative is intended to foster cultural dialogue between Turkmenistan and Japan and to broaden the capital’s residents’ understanding of global culinary traditions.
