A delegation from Turkmenistan visited Canada on a working visit, during which meetings were held with the leadership of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), representatives of the United Nations Institute for Water, Environment and Health, as well as professors from the University of Montreal and other Canadian universities. This was reported by IIC of Turkmenistan.

The prospects for cooperation in the field of education and media were discussed, including the organisation of joint courses, internships and exchanges of experience in journalism.

In addition, the parties exchanged views on events to mark the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality and the International Year of Peace and Trust. The participants noted the importance of international cooperation and expressed their gratitude to the leadership of Turkmenistan for its support in developing professional ties.

Following the visit, initiatives were put forward to expand cooperation between the educational systems of the two countries.
