A Turkmen delegation comprising representatives of the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan visited Germany as part of a project by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) ‘European Union for Green Growth in Turkmenistan: Policy Dialogue and Climate Change Actions for 2024–2028.’ This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan. Turkmenistan and Belarus maintain stable trade and economic ties, which have been actively developing in recent years due to the strengthening of contacts between business communities. This was stated by Belarusian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Stanislav Chepurnoy in an article on Belarusian Independence Day published in the newspaper ‘Neutral Turkmenistan’, according to the news website Turkmenportal. A young athlete from Ashgabat, Aslan Agadadayev, won bronze at the Asian Championship among youths under 17, which took place in Vung Tau, Vietnam. In the weight category up to 110 kg, the eleventh grader from the Turkmen-Turkish school showed his character: after losing to Indian wrestler Hardip (1:5), he defeated Kyrgyzstan's Umar Ormanov in the battle for third place. On 3 July 2025, during a visit by a Turkmen delegation to Azerbaijan, talks were held between the Head of the Turkmen Foreign Affairs Ministry, Rashid Meredov, and the acting Deputy Prime Minister of Afghanistan, Abdul Ghani Baradar. Young athletes showed outstanding results at the XV International Children's Tournament ‘Happy Caravan 2025’, demonstrating skill and determination to win. The Turkmenistan team consisted of 33 gymnasts who, under the guidance of coach Fiza Ayvazova and her assistants, brought home 17 gold, 11 silver and 5 bronze medals. This was reported by the IIC. Two significant international events opened in Istanbul – the ‘Turkmenistan-Turkey’ Trade Fair and the ‘F Istanbul’ food industry and technology exhibition. According to him, last year the volume of mutual trade exceeded $2.2 billion, which is 8.35% more than in the previous period. In the first six months of this year, growth already amounted to 26.5%. Omer Bolat expressed confidence that if this pace is maintained, bilateral trade will exceed $3 billion next year. The parties confirmed their intention to achieve the ambitious goal set by the leaders of the two countries – to increase annual trade to $5 billion. The Minister also noted the active participation of Turkish construction companies in the implementation of infrastructure projects in Turkmenistan. Of the 12,600 international contracts worth a total of $540 billion, 1,100 projects worth $54 billion were completed in Turkmenistan.
The 33rd session of the Assembly of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) is being held at UNESCO headquarters in Paris from 25 June to 3 July this year. On the eve of the Assembly, a meeting of the IOC Executive Council was held to discuss key issues of international cooperation in the field of oceanography. From 23 to 25 June, a working meeting was held in Ashgabat between representatives of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation and the ‘Türkmenawtoulaglary’ agency under the Transport and Communications Agency of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan.
