Turkmenistan women's national team will participate in 2026 Asian Cup qualifying tournament

The Turkmenistan national team will take part in the qualifying tournament for the 2026 Women's Asian Cup. According to the results of the draw, the Turkmen footballers were placed in Group C, where they will face Myanmar, Bahrain and Bangladesh. This was reported by IIC. According to the tournament rules, only the winners of the eight qualifying groups will advance to the final stage. They will be automatically joined by the hosts, Australia, as well as the three strongest teams from the previous edition: the reigning champions from China, South Korea and Japan. The final tournament of the 2026 Women's Asian Cup will be hosted by Australia. The matches will take place from 1 to 21 March in three cities across the country - Sydney, Perth and Gold Coast, where tickets to the World Cup will be decided.


Turkmen wrestlers won four medals at the Asian U23 Youth Championships

A three-day international chess tournament for children aged 8, 10 and 12 has come to an end in the capital of Turkmenistan. The competition was attended by 129 young chess players from 11 countries in Europe and Asia. This was reported by the state news agency TDH. At the end of the tournament, representatives of Turkmenistan took first place in the overall medal standings in rapid and blitz chess, winning 19 awards. Second place went to the team from Uzbekistan, and third place to Kazakhstan. Turkmen athletes distinguished themselves with their high level of training, winning prizes in both disciplines – rapid and blitz. In particular, female chess players from Turkmenistan dominated in the 10 and 12 age categories. The winners were awarded in a solemn atmosphere.
