On 30 July, a new avenue and a modern bridge were officially opened in the city of Arkadag. The event was attended by government officials, members of the public and creative groups. The reconstructed bridge connecting Gokdepe Avenue and Keymir Kor was built by Turkmen contractors. It is 627 metres long and 29.5 metres wide, including pedestrian and green areas. The bridge and adjacent roads meet modern standards, ensuring safe traffic flow. The opening was accompanied by festive events: performances by artists, the release of balloons and pigeons, a wedding procession and a festive motorcade. The new Keymir Kor Avenue and transport infrastructure built in the city of Arkadag are part of a large-scale programme to develop the urban environment. On 28 July 2025, the final meeting of the project council was held in Ashgabat, marking the successful completion of an important initiative. For seven years, experts worked to create an effective system for assessing risks and responding to seismic threats, with a particular focus on the country's capital. This was reported by the IIC. Turkmenistan is implementing a large-scale social infrastructure development programme until 2028. According to the national programme adopted on 11 July 2025, 87 important facilities will be built within three years, including medical institutions, educational centres and public utilities. This was reported by IIC. The list of construction projects includes four hospitals, 12 polyclinics, 17 kindergartens and 32 schools. Particular attention is being paid to the modernisation of public utilities, with plans to build 12 water treatment plants and six sewage treatment plants. At the same time, modern engineering infrastructure will be created with extensive water supply networks, gas pipelines and power lines. In the Ahal velayat, 19 facilities will be built and 850 km of water pipelines will be laid. The Balkan velayat will receive 14 new facilities, including two hospitals, 19 social facilities will appear in the Dashoguz velayat, and the Lebap and Mary velayats will receive 16 and 18 facilities, respectively. The programme also includes the development of the transport network, the construction of expressways and the improvement of telecommunications systems. These measures are aimed at comprehensively improving living conditions in the country's regions.
From 21 to 23 August, the Exhibition Centre of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan will host Kids Expo 2025, a specialised exhibition that will bring together the worlds of childhood, entertainment, education and gastronomy. The Union of Economists of Turkmenistan has announced a five-day training course entitled ‘ISO 9001: Develop your business through quality’, aimed at promoting the implementation of a quality management system in accordance with the international standard ISO 9001:2015 in Turkmen enterprises. The programme will begin on 15 August with a free introductory seminar, during which participants will be familiarised with the main provisions of the standard. The main course will take place from 25 to 29 August in Ashgabat. The training will be organised in an interactive format with lectures, practical tasks, group discussions and question-and-answer sessions. The training is aimed at managers and specialists responsible for quality management in their organisations. The organisers emphasise that the implementation of ISO 9001:2015 contributes to increased customer satisfaction, process optimisation and cost reduction, which ultimately improves business competitiveness.
On 29 July 2025, an OSCE seminar on ‘Youth Negotiation on Climate, Security and Co-operation’ was held in Ashgabat, attended by about 35 students from leading universities in Turkmenistan. The event was organised by the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat as part of its support for UNICEF Youth Climate Summer School 2025. This was reported by the IIC. During the seminar, participants studied OSCE environmental initiatives and discussed the integration of a gender perspective into the organisation's strategy. Special attention was paid to the role of Central Asian youth in global negotiations on climate and water security. A delegation from Turkmenistan, led by Ovezov Velimyrat, Head of the culture department of the Magtymguly Youth Organisation, is participating in the International Youth Forum - Dialogue of Youth Leaders for Peace of the CPAFFC in Beijing. As part of an educational initiative, the OSCE Programme Office in Ashgabat donated digital equipment worth more than €19,000, including computers, an interactive whiteboard and office equipment, to Secondary School No. 28 in the Tagtabazar etrap to improve the learning process. During the Forum on Ecology in the Altai Republic, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Nokerguly Atagulyev confirmed the country's commitment to environmental diplomacy and sustainable development. N.Atagulyev recalled that Turkmenistan participates in a number of key international environmental agreements, including the Paris Agreement on Climate Change and the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora. Over the past 20 years, more than 162 million trees have been planted in Turkmenistan, and the network of nature reserves is expanding. Work is underway to ensure the rational use of transboundary waters and the introduction of water-saving technologies. Turkmenistan is also developing renewable energy, with solar and wind power plants under construction and a Road map for the city of Arkadag being developed. Desert ecosystems have been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. N. Atagulyev emphasised that in the year of the 30th anniversary of its neutrality, Turkmenistan is open to international cooperation in the field of ecology.
Turkmenistan took part in the first high-level regional policy dialogue ‘Building a Clean Air Future in Central Asia’ held on 19 July in Tashkent. This was reported by the IIC of Turkmenistan. A meeting was held at the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan to discuss the nomination of the Koytendag (Turkmenistan) and Surkhan (Uzbekistan) nature reserves for inclusion in the UNESCO World Natural Heritage List. A delegation from Turkmenistan took part in a seminar on rural development in Central Asian countries, held in Beijing. This was reported by the news website Turkmenportal.
