On 10 July, entrepreneurs from Afghanistan signed a contract with the State Concern ‘Türkmenhimiýa’ for the purchase of sodium chloride on the foreign market. This was reported by the press service of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan. On the same day, entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan signed an agreement with the State Concern ‘Türkmengaz’ for the purchase of liquefied gas. On the domestic market of Turkmenistan, local businessmen signed a contract with the Ministry of Industry and Construction for the purchase of aerated concrete blocks. As a result of the tender, three deals were concluded for a total amount of $86,013 and 59,034 manat.
A programme to improve the qualifications of specialists in the oil and gas sector is being successfully implemented in the Mary velayat. As part of the modernisation of vocational education and on the instructions of the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, a training department of the State Concern ‘Türkmengaz’ has been opened at the Mary Oil and Gas Technical College. This was reported by the news website Asmannews. Since its opening, 630 employees of the ‘Türkmengaz’ concern and the geological exploration divisions of ‘Türkmengeologiýa’ have already undergone training. The courses cover modern drilling and gas processing technologies and practical work with the latest equipment. Classes are held in classrooms equipped with digital systems and interactive technologies. The teachers are specialists with extensive production experience. Recently, practical training in modern welding methods was conducted at the ‘Galkynysh’ field. There are plans to expand practical courses to other facilities in the region in the near future. This initiative confirms that the development of professional skills is an important condition for the consistent growth of the industry and the economy.
The wheat harvest has been completed in Turkmenistan, with farmers delivering more than 1.4 million tonnes of grain to the state. This result was made possible by the modernisation of agriculture, the development of agricultural technologies and state support measures, according to the state news agency TDH. The agricultural sector remains one of the key areas of the country's economy. Infrastructure is being actively upgraded, with processing plants and elevators being built and investments being made in equipment and fertilisers. Breeding is also developing, with new wheat varieties adapted to local conditions being developed. This stimulates production growth and strengthens food security. Quality control of agricultural work is carried out at all stages, from seed selection to harvest. The use of modern technology, mobile repair teams and support for machine operators have ensured the smooth and efficient running of the campaign. The successful harvest is the result of comprehensive work to develop Turkmenistan's agro-industrial complex.
On 8 July, Dushanbe hosted an International Textile Forum, which was actively attended by a Turkmen delegation. The event, which brought together representatives of government agencies and the business community from Central Asia and other regions, became an important platform for demonstrating achievements and discussing prospects for cooperation in the textile sector. The Turkmen side gave presentations on the production of high-quality cotton products, the introduction of modern technologies and the development of a complete production cycle. Particular attention was paid to expanding export opportunities and finding new partners for joint projects. During the forum, Turkmen representatives held a series of talks with Tajik companies, during which they discussed options for technological cooperation and the implementation of mutually beneficial initiatives. An additional element of the programme was a visit to textile enterprises in Dushanbe, including the ‘Guliston’ factory, where the delegation got acquainted with local production processes and outlined possible areas of cooperation. Participation in the forum allowed Turkmenistan not only to demonstrate its industrial achievements, but also to strengthen business ties with partners in the region.
A regional event was recently held in Chisinau as part of the ‘Ready4Trade Central Asia’ project, organised by the International Trade Centre with the support of the European Union. The State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the Customs Service of the Republic of Moldova, which hosted the event, took an active part in the event. The ‘Peer Learning Initiative’ format allowed representatives of customs authorities and the business sector of Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Moldova and Turkey to exchange knowledge and best practices. Turkmenistan has expressed its readiness to actively participate in joint projects with the EU. This was announced after a meeting between the European Commission's Director-General for International Partnerships (DG INTPA) Peteris Ustubs and the ambassadors of Central Asian countries in Belgium, according to the IIC of Turkmenistan. Sapar Palvanov, Turkmenistan's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Belgium, emphasised his country's desire to develop cooperation with the EU in the fields of transport, trade and energy. The participants discussed the results of the first ‘Central Asia – EU’ summit, as well as preparations for the Investment and Economic Forums scheduled for November this year. They also discussed expanding cooperation with the EIB and the EBRD. Turkmenistan and the EIB confirmed their intention to intensify the preparation of investment projects and memoranda of cooperation.
On 8-9 July 2025, Ankara is hosting a meeting of heads of tourism agencies of the member states of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS), which is attended by a delegation from the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan. From 8 to 17 July 2025, the 66th session of the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) Assembly is being held in Geneva, with the participation of a delegation from Turkmenistan headed by the Head of the State Intellectual Property Service. The session, which brings together representatives from more than 100 countries, is discussing topical issues in the development of the international intellectual property system. The main focus is on finding a balance between the interests of rights holders and users in the context of rapid technological progress, as well as issues of regulating artificial intelligence in the context of copyright. The talks will focus on improving the national intellectual property system, implementing the provisions of the National Programme for 2021-2025 and the prospects for joining new international treaties. The ‘Nurly meýdan’ poultry complex, a key producer of chicken meat and eggs in the country, is successfully operating in the Bereket etrap of the Balkan velayat. The enterprise covers an area of 50 hectares and carries out the entire production cycle, from chick incubation to finished products. This was reported by the IIC. The complex produces 200-250 thousand chickens per month, which is a significant part of the total volume in Turkmenistan. Production capacity allows for the production of 8 thousand tonnes of chicken meat and 30 million eggs annually. The enterprise has 260,000 laying hens, which produce 130,000-140,000 eggs daily, with plans to increase this figure to 240,000. Particular attention is paid to product quality, which is confirmed by growing demand both on the domestic market and abroad. Supplies to Afghanistan have already been established, and negotiations are underway to enter the markets of Kazakhstan, Georgia, Russia and the UAE. The activities of ‘Nurly meýdan’ clearly demonstrate the successful development of Turkmenistan's agro-industrial complex, combining modern production technologies with environmental safety of products.
The ‘Türkmendeňizderýaýollary’ agency has announced an international tender for the design, supply of equipment and construction management of two Ro-Ro railway ferries and one dry cargo ship. The project is financed by the Islamic Development Bank and the OPEC Fund under previously signed agreements. This was reported by IIC. All three vessels will be built at the Balkan shipbuilding and ship repair yard, which underscores Turkmenistan's commitment to developing its own shipbuilding capacity. The implementation of the project will increase the cargo-carrying capacity of the national maritime fleet, strengthen Turkmenistan's position as a transport hub in the Caspian Sea region, create new jobs and improve the qualifications of local specialists. Particular importance is attached to the construction of railway ferries that will be able to transport wagons between Caspian ports, which will increase the efficiency of international transport corridors involving Turkmenistan. This project is in line with the country's long-term maritime infrastructure development strategy and will contribute to the diversification of the national economy. Construction is scheduled for completion in 2026-2027.
On 7 July, representatives of Afghanistan purchased SN-350 base oil from the State Concern ‘Türkmennebit’. This was reported by the press service of the SCRMET. Serbian businessmen signed a contract with the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan for the supply of unrefined dried licorice roots and rhizomes. In addition, entrepreneurs from the UAE concluded a deal with Turkmen entrepreneurs for the purchase of dyed fabric and men's shirts. On the domestic market, a deal was made between local businessmen and the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry to buy thick licorice root extract. In total, four deals were made during the auction for a total of 750,846 US dollars and 884,000 manats.
