President of Turkmenistan congratulates participants of events dedicated to the Turkmen Carpet Holiday
25.05.2025President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the participants of the exhibition of carpets and carpet products, as well as the XXV meeting of the World Association of Turkmen Carpet Connoisseurs held on the occasion of the Turkmen Carpet Holiday. It is reported by the state news agency TDH. The Head of State noted that Turkmen carpets are an important part of the national heritage and are included in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO). The President of Turkmenistan emphasised that carpets reflect the spiritual values of the people, their traditions and national peculiarities. Serdar Berdimuhamedov drew attention to the development of the art of carpet weaving in modern Turkmenistan, creation of new enterprises and support of carpet weavers through honourable titles and encouragements. In conclusion, the head of state wished the participants good health, prosperity and success in preserving and promoting the national art of carpet weaving.

The Head of State stressed that the current graduates are the first ones to complete education under the 12-year programme developed on the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. During this period, the education system has been extensively modernised in line with international standards. Serdar Berdimuhamedov also noted the success of the graduates at international competitions and the importance of science and education for the development of the country, stressing the continuation of efforts to improve educational programmes and conditions for teachers. President of Turkmenistan approves purchase of Chinese municipal equipment for Ashgabat
25.05.2025In order to modernise public utilities and improve the quality of public services for the population, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a Decree allowing the Ashgabat city administration to sign a contract with the Chinese company Changsha Zoomlion Environmental Industry Co., Ltd. It is reported by the state news agency TDH. According to the document, within the framework of the agreement it is planned to purchase specialised vehicles, municipal machinery and equipment, as well as spare parts, designed to ensure the smooth operation of municipal services of the capital.
President of Turkmenistan approves construction of new chemical complex
25.05.2025In order to provide Turkmenistan's agrarians with necessary phosphate fertilisers and develop the chemical industry, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a Decree on signing a contract with South Korean company Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. It is reported by the state news agency TDH. According to the document, the State Concern ‘Türkmenhimiýa’ is authorised to sign an agreement with a foreign partner for the design and construction of a production complex on the basis of Turkmenabat Chemical Plant named after S.A.Niyazov. The complex will annually produce 350,000 tonnes of superphosphate and 100,000 tonnes of ammonium sulphate.
UN-Habitat praises Ashgabat's achievements in sustainable development
