Turkmen chess players won five medals at the Western Asia Youth Championship
17.05.2025The Western Asia Youth Chess Championship has ended in Dushanbe, where the national team of Turkmenistan showed brilliant results. Turkmen athletes brought home five awards: one gold and four bronze medals. This is reported by the ‘Turkmenistan: Golden age’ online edition. Experienced chess player Leyla Shohradova won gold in blitz among girls under 18, scoring 8.5 points out of 9 possible. The 18-year-old athlete from Lebap velayat confirmed her high level by winning eight games and drawing one. The bronze medals in different age categories were won by Charykhekim Charyyev (under 8 years old), Maksat Avlyakuliyev, Myrat Merdanov and Didar Khupbyyev (team competition under 10 years old). In total, more than 200 young chess players from 12 countries took part in the tournament. Turkmen students performed brilliantly at the prestigious Universiade at the Moscow State University
17.05.2025Students of Turkmen universities achieved impressive success at the Lomonosov-2025 International Universiade organised by Moscow State University. Turkmen students won 2 first places and 6 prize positions, confirming the high level of preparation. This is reported by the online edition of ‘Turkmenistan: Golden age’. The absolute winners were Arslan Mamedov from the Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages and Lale Rzaguliyeva from the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly. Four students of the National Institute of World Languages (Guljemal Guyjova, Daniela Gerb, Diana Dallakyan, Leyli Ishanova), as well as Perman Kiyasov from TSU and Yaran Khudayberdiyev from the Agricultural University were among the prize winners. A total of 20 students from five leading universities of Turkmenistan, including the Medical University and the International University for Humanities and Development, represented Turkmenistan. Their knowledge of Russian, English, German and French languages was particularly impressive, which was especially noted by the organisers. The Lomonosov Universiade held in several stages is one of the most prestigious intellectual competitions for students. Photo exhibition to mark the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality opened in Turkey

The deepest well in Turkmenistan has been drilled at West Goturdepe
