The Turkmenistan Wrestling Federation has approved the composition of the national freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling teams to participate in the World Youth Championships (under 20 years old), which will be held from 15 to 26 August in Samokov (Bulgaria). On 12 August, Caspian Sea Day was held in the ‘Avaza’ National Tourist Zone to mark the entry into force of the Framework Convention on the Protection of the Marine Environment of the Caspian Sea. A meeting was held at the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas with a delegation from the Centre for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education of China on the development of cooperation in the teaching of Chinese in Turkmenistan. Employees of the Centre for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education of the PRC presented their own work aimed at improving Chinese language teaching methods and the use of advanced modern technologies in the educational process. On 15 August this year, a joint Russian-Turkmen concert will be held in the Russian capital, symbolising mutual understanding and cooperation between the two countries. The concert, entitled ‘Music of Peace, Music of Friendship and Brotherhood,’ is timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality, the 80th anniversary of Victory Day, and the declaration of 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust. An international scientific and practical conference dedicated to Caspian Sea Day was held in the ‘Avaza’ National Tourist Zone. The large-scale event entitled ‘The Caspian Sea – A Sea of Friendship and Peace’ is attended by representatives of diplomatic missions of the Caspian littoral states, as well as members of authoritative international organisations (UN, OSCE, UNEP, UNDP, EU). The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belgium hosted a meeting with a group of students from China who arrived in Brussels on a summer educational programme. The students represented nine provinces and study at leading Chinese schools and universities. This was reported by the news agency Orient. Sapar Palvanov, Turkmenistan's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Belgium, welcomed the guests and spoke about the country's foreign policy, particularly its status of permanent neutrality recognised by the UN. Representatives of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan took part in the international summer school ‘DARYA summer school on Excellence in Teaching and Learning,’ held from 5 to 8 August in Kyrgyzstan. The event was dedicated to the concept of ‘School of Professional Excellence’ and the use of SCAFFOLD and ISATCOVE tools in DARYA projects. At the World Robotics & Computer Science Olympiad, organised by the Indonesian Young Scientist Association (IYSA), Turkmen students took first place in the ‘Computer Technology’ category with their project ‘Car rental using Artificial Intelligence.’ This was reported by the news website Turkmenportal. From 3 to 13 August, Samarkand (Uzbekistan) is hosting the Central Asian Traditional Karate Championship. The Turkmenistan team performed well, winning nine gold, three silver and four bronze medals.
