Turkmen karate fighters won two bronze medals at the 23rd Asian Cadet and Junior Championships (under 21), which took place in Shaoguan, China, according to the news agency ‘Turkmenistan: Golden age’. Almost 500 athletes from 30 countries took part in the competition, organized by the Asian Karate Federation WKF. The Turkmenistan team was represented by eight athletes. The first bronze medal went to Gurbannazar Amandurdyev, and the second to Garamammet Garamammedov. Both athletes train with the national team under the guidance of head coach Aydyn Charyev.
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the participants of the 26th conference of the Humanitarian Association of World Turkmens and members of the association on the opening of the event. The President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country, General of the Army Serdar Berdimuhamedov, took part in the opening ceremony of the new complex of buildings of the ‘Sarahs’ border guard detachment of the State Border Guard Service. Particular attention was paid to creating comfortable conditions for the families of border guards: the new apartments are equipped with modern furniture, kitchen equipment, heating and cooling systems. The President of Turkmenistan handed over the keys to new cars and noted that caring for military personnel and their families is one of the priorities of state policy. The President of Turkmenistan signed a Resolution on holding the Turkmenistan Investment Forum (TIF 2025) in the ‘Avaza’ National Tourist Zone from 18 to 19 September. As part of the EU-funded International Trade Centre (ITC) project ‘Turkmenistan: Enhancing Trade Resilience and Integration’, a study tour to Samarkand was organised for women entrepreneurs from Turkmenistan. The first two days were held in the format of a practical seminar in conjunction with the International Association of Businesswomen of Uzbekistan. The focus was on mentoring, educational opportunities, interaction with government agencies and creating an enabling environment for women's entrepreneurship. The culmination was the ‘100+ Women's Leadership’ meeting, which brought together more than 200 women leaders from the region to discuss the impact of women on the economy, the digitalisation of business and innovative forms of intergovernmental cooperation. Turkmen women entrepreneurs presented their initiatives and learned about successful projects in Uzbekistan, which provided new ideas and inspiration. The Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan held a meeting with Oliver Stolpe, Regional Representative of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) for Central Asia.
