On 21 November, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Kazakhstan held a thematic event in Almaty to mark the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality. The participants emphasised that neutrality serves as the basis for peaceful coexistence, security and sustainable development, and also strengthens the country's role as a reliable partner in international processes. The students were told about the key events of 2025 and the preparations for the International Forum on Peace and Trust, which will take place in December. Guests were shown a video about the socio-economic and cultural achievements of Turkmenistan. Students performed a creative programme, singing national songs, reading poems and performing dances, including the ‘kushtdepdi’. At the end of the event, the Embassy representative held a meeting with the university administration to discuss issues related to the education of Turkmen students.
At the international forum "Neutrality and Humanism: Comprehensive Support for an Inclusive Future," dedicated to World Children's Day, the Head of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Turkmenistan, Jalpa Ratna, stated that building an inclusive future for all children, including children with disabilities, is only possible with the cooperation of all systems that influence their development. Ratna noted that education, healthcare, social protection, rehabilitation and community participation are elements of a single system that only works effectively when there is full cooperation. A forum entitled ‘Neutrality and Humanism: Comprehensive Support for an Inclusive Future’ was held in Ashgabat to mark World Children’s Day. Participants discussed issues related to the protection of children's rights, the development of international cooperation and the application of global practices in this area. The event was joined by the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship and the UNICEF Representative Office in Turkmenistan. Guests viewed an exhibition presented by departments of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection. The exhibition reflected the current programmes and projects of these departments. Oguljahan Atabayeva, Vice-President for Medical Activities of the Charitable Foundation, emphasised that the organisation and UNICEF are working to strengthen health and education systems and to support children in need of social assistance. After the main part of the programme, tennis competitions for children with disabilities were held at the Olympic Village Tennis Complex. The Fourth International Forum ‘Woman of the Third Millennium’ was held in Moscow, with representatives of the Women's Union of Turkmenistan taking part. The event brought together women leaders, entrepreneurs and cultural figures from Russia, the CIS countries, Asia, Africa and Europe. This was reported by Turkmenportal. The forum's agenda focused on sustainable development, expanding opportunities for women's entrepreneurship and strengthening international partnerships. On 17 November, a round table discussion was held via videoconference with representatives of the State Committee for Water Management of Turkmenistan and ITOCHU Corporation, dedicated to the prospects for cooperation with Japanese manufacturers in the field of automotive equipment supplies. The participants emphasised that a productive partnership has already been established between the State Committee and ITOCHU Corporation for the purchase of ‘Komatsu’ equipment and spare parts. On 20 November, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia and the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia held a scientific conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality. The meeting emphasised the importance of cultural and educational cooperation between Turkmenistan and Georgia. Joint projects and humanitarian programmes help to strengthen dialogue between the states. The conference ended with a concert by Turkmen performers and an exhibition of decorative and applied arts and painting. On 13 November, a working meeting was held at the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan with Hiroshi Sasaki, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Turkmenistan, Turkmenportal reported. During the negotiations, the current state and promising areas of development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Japan in the field of migration were discussed, as well as issues of strengthening partnership. Particular attention was paid to joint work within international organisations as an important element in expanding bilateral ties. Following the meeting, the parties expressed mutual interest in further strengthening cooperation in the field of migration.
The Ashgabat Park hosted an inclusive festival entitled ‘WE ARE DIFFERENT – WE ARE EQUAL,’ timed to coincide with International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The event, held for the fourth consecutive year, was organised by the UN Country Team in Turkmenistan in collaboration with local civil society organisations and with the support of the government, according to the state news agency ‘Turkmenistan: Golden age’. The festival aimed to raise awareness of the need to create an accessible and comfortable environment that allows people with disabilities to participate fully in public life. The park was divided into different zones: sports, information and education, and creativity. Guests were particularly interested in an exhibition of works created by people with disabilities, including paintings, toys and handmade souvenirs. Tennis and chess tournaments were also organised, and participants performed vocal and dance numbers. The festival ended with the presentation of commemorative gifts to active participants. The event left a warm impression and was yet another confirmation of the state's attention to issues of inclusion and the well-being of citizens.
Turkmenistan is stepping up its participation in regional initiatives aimed at effective water resource management. A delegation from the country took part in the Tashkent seminar ‘Water Issues in Central Asia’, organised as part of the ‘Blue Peace Central Asia’ (BPCA) programme, according to AsmanNews. Representatives of relevant water management agencies and international organisations took part in the discussions. The Turkmen side was represented by specialists from the State Water Management Committee, the Ministries of Environment and Education, as well as researchers from the Centre for Strategic Studies of the Institute of International Relations of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Turkmenistan. During the forum sessions, participants discussed issues of joint management of small transboundary watercourses and identified key areas of cooperation for the medium term. Significant attention was paid to issues of rational water use and measures to adapt to the effects of climate change. Regional coordination, enhanced information exchange and alignment with national development strategies remain key elements of cooperation among Central Asian states in the water sector.
As part of the UNDP project ‘Assistance in the implementation of a pilot system of interdepartmental electronic information exchange in Turkmenistan’, implemented jointly with the Ministry of Communications of Turkmenistan, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Communications and the e-Governance Academy (Estonia). The document aims to develop a long-term partnership in the field of digital transformation of public administration, including the organisation of specialised training and consulting programmes. The signing was held during the ‘Türkmentel-2025’ International Exhibition and Scientific Conference, which underscores the strategic importance of the agreement for strengthening the country's capacity for innovation and promoting digital initiatives. The signing of the Memorandum was another step in the UNDP programme to support digital transformation in Turkmenistan. In line with the UNDP's global Digital Strategy, the organisation promotes the development of inclusive, sustainable and secure digital ecosystems.
A large-scale autumn planting campaign was held in Turkmenistan, during which 449,464 tree seedlings were planted across the country. This was reported by the news agency TDH. The campaign was launched by the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who personally planted a 12-year-old Turkmen juniper tree. During the campaign, work was also carried out to care for almost two million previously planted trees. The activities included cleaning and landscaping parks, forests and areas at the foot of the mountains. The selection of tree species was carried out taking into account local soil and climatic conditions, which contributes to the expansion of green areas and the strengthening of the country's environmental sustainability.
