A delegation from Turkmenistan, including representatives of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the Academy of Sciences, local authorities and other institutions, paid a working visit to Uzbekistan. The 33rd session of the Assembly of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) is being held at UNESCO headquarters in Paris from 25 June to 3 July this year. On the eve of the Assembly, a meeting of the IOC Executive Council was held to discuss key issues of international cooperation in the field of oceanography. This was reported by the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Turkmenistan. Turkmenistan is represented at the event by Director of the Caspian Sea Institute Myrat Atajanov, Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to UNESCO Maksat Charyev and Foreign Affairs Ministry official Kemal Garayev. The ‘Turkmenaragatnashyk’ agency has launched the ‘Digital Solution – 2025’ competition to support digital technologies in Turkmenistan. This was reported by the news website Turkmenportal. The competition covers seven areas, including AI, robotics, smart cities, digital medicine and education. Projects are evaluated according to eight criteria, ranging from relevance and innovation to compliance with legislation and the availability of source code. A delegation from the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China, headed by Vice Chairman of the People's Government Wang Gang, arrived in Turkmenistan on a working visit. The purpose of the visit is to discuss cooperation in agriculture. This was reported by the IIC of Turkmenistan. The Chinese representatives visited the S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University, where they familiarised themselves with the country's achievements in the agricultural sector. Saparguly Mahtumov, ambassador of the Technovation Girls international programme from Turkmenistan, was among the four winners of the GALA-2025 Global Ambassador Leadership Award. He became the first young man in the history of the award to receive this high honour for his active work in promoting STEM education among girls in Turkmenistan and Central Asia. On the eve of the second anniversary of the founding of the city of Arkadag, a collection of scientific articles entitled ‘Arkadag City – the Heritage of Our National Leader for Humanity’ was published by the Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute. This publication reflects the grand transformations of the country during the Renaissance era under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan. Arkadag, which has been granted the status of a city of national importance, has become a symbol of the country's economic power and technological breakthrough. A delegation from Turkmenistan took part in the VII International Conference ‘Information and Communication in the Digital Age’, which was held from 25 to 27 June in Khanty-Mansiysk as part of the XVI International IT Forum and UNESCO's intergovernmental programme ‘Information for All’. The conference was attended by about 120 delegates from more than 40 countries, including experts in the field of IT, politics, scientists, journalists, as well as representatives of educational and cultural institutions. On 27 June 2025, a solemn ceremony was held in the capital of Turkey to lay flowers at the monument to the great Turkmen poet and philosopher Magtymguly Pyragy. A round table discussion entitled ‘Health of Society - the Key to Peace and Prosperity’ was held at the ‘Archabil’ Hotel in Ashgabat. On 26 June, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Myahri Byashimova held a meeting with the newly appointed Executive Director of the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC) Batyr Mamedov. On June 23, 2025, the delegation of Turkmenistan began a familiarization visit to the Federal Republic of Germany. It included representatives of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Energy and the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan. The trip takes place from June 23 to 28 as part of the project ‘European Union for Green Development of Turkmenistan’, organized by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), the press service of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan reports. A delegation from Turkmenistan visited Moscow on a working visit within the framework of projects of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
