Serdar Berdimuhamedov outlined the priorities for Turkmen-Kazakh cooperation

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted the growth of Turkmen-Kazakh dialogue and confirmed his readiness to further develop the partnership. The Head of State made this statement during an official meeting with President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, TDH reports. Head of Turkmenistan recalled that relations between the two countries are based on the Strategic Partnership Agreement and the Declaration on Strengthening Friendship. Common historical and cultural ties remain the basis for cooperation. In the political and diplomatic sphere, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan are working on issues of security, energy, transport, climate and sustainable development goals. Turkmenistan also supports cooperation within the framework of the Consultative Meetings of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the ‘CA+’ formats. A separate proposal was made to include Azerbaijan in the consultative format. Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted the need for joint projects in the field of ecology — waste processing, ‘green’ construction, and protection of the Aral and Caspian Seas. In the economic sphere, the parties are recording steady growth in trade turnover. Turkmenistan expressed its readiness to expand cooperation in the energy sector, including the exchange of experience in hydrocarbon production and environmental safety issues. The electricity sector, chemical industry, metallurgy, machine building, textile industry, petrochemicals, gas processing and urban development were also mentioned. Transport and logistics are a separate subject. Road infrastructure is being developed. A bridge across the Garabogazgol Bay has been put into operation, and construction of a road from Turkmenbashi to the state border is continuing. The President of Turkmenistan pointed to the potential for cooperation in the digital economy and innovation, as well as in the agro-industrial complex. Among the topical issues is the rational use of water resources. The cultural and humanitarian sphere remains an important part of the partnership: science, education, healthcare, physical culture and sport. On 25 November, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held negotiations in Astana. The parties discussed the economy, transport and prospects for expanding partnership, according to IIC. The visit began with a welcoming ceremony at the ‘Akorda’ Palace. The leaders of the states greeted the delegations, after which they held negotiations. The main focus was on the development of the ‘North-South’ corridor and the ‘Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran’ railway. Serdar Berdimuhamedov reported on the progress of infrastructure projects, including the bridge across the Garabogazgol Bay and the construction of a road from Turkmenbashi to the Kazakh border. During the visit, the President of Kazakhstan presented the President of Turkmenistan with Kazakhstan's highest award, the Order of ‘Altyn Qyran’. The award was given for his contribution to strengthening cooperation between the two countries. Following the negotiations, a Joint Statement and a number of agreements were signed. The Turkmenistan national traditional karate team won 18 medals at the Asian Championships in Tashkent. The team won 9 gold, 6 silver and 3 bronze medals, according to IIC. Gold medals were won by Azym Govshudov, Aylar Ilhanova, Amangozel Bekmyradova, Damir Allaberdiyev, Sylap Toylymyradov, Aysha Ilgeldiyeva, Meylis Charyev, Aylale Artykova and Oguljennet Mammetgylyjova. Silver medals went to Aysulu Rejepova, Rahman Shagulyev, Medine Gaylyeva, Daniyar Bagtiyarov, Yhlas Annagurbanov and Selim Myratdurdyev. Bronze medals were won by Gurbandurdy Byashimov, Rahym Akmyradov and Yhlas Jumanazarov. The team is already preparing for new international tournaments. It keeps on strengthening its positions in world competitions.

A National Professional Association of Lawyers is being formed in Turkmenistan

Turkmenistan has opened the region's first scientific centre for training Olympic athletes

Turkmenistan has launched Central Asia's first research centre for training Olympic athletes. It began operating at the State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport, according to IIC. The centre is equipped with the same gear used by top sports schools in Germany, Japan, and the US. It has BOD POD and Cosmed systems, which are used at the Olympic centres in Salt Lake City and Tokyo. To test speed and reaction time, they use the SpeedCourt system, which is familiar from the ‘Bayern Munich’ and ‘Real Madrid’ academies. Höhenbalance technology has also been introduced, allowing high-altitude conditions to be simulated. The centre works in conjunction with the institute's departments. Students have access to real measurements and practical training in the fields of sports medicine and biomechanics. The aim of the project is to form a scientific basis for the training of national teams and qualified specialists.
