Turkmenistan presented its position on promoting peace and stability in Afghanistan at a meeting of the UN Security Council, according to IIC. Speaking at the briefing, the Turkmen delegation noted that, as a neighboring state, Turkmenistan is interested in ensuring stability and security in Afghanistan. The implementation of major regional infrastructure projects was identified as one of the key factors for the country’s long-term development. These include the construction of the TAPI gas pipeline, the TAP power transmission line, as well as the development of railway and transport corridors. A regular round of Turkmen-Kazakh inter-ministerial consultations on consular affairs was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, according to the IIC.
