The session was led by Myahri Gulmamedova, a yoga instructor from Balkanabat with five years of experience and special training. According to her, interest in yoga in the region is growing consistently: ‘Last year, with the support of the Indian Embassy in Turkmenistan, a master class was held at the ‘Awaza’ indoor water park, and since then the number of people wanting to practise yoga has increased significantly. We practise both in gyms and outdoors, in the mountains and by the sea, as our region offers excellent conditions for yoga,’ said the instructor.


Turkmenistan approves State Flight Safety Programme

In this regard, the Turkmen side, guided by the principles of peaceful resolution of international problems, expressed its readiness to participate in the settlement of the current situation in the Middle East through negotiations with all interested parties with a view to achieving peace, security and stability in the region as soon as possible. The Iranian Foreign Minister thanked brotherly Turkmenistan, its leadership and people for their constant support and confirmed his readiness to continue constructive political dialogue with the Turkmen side.

A UNDP programme supported by the Government of Japan has been launched in Turkmenistan

A nine-day training course on ‘Psychological Aspects of Preventing Various Forms of Extremism’ has started in Turkmenistan. The event is organised as part of the country component of the UNDP regional project on countering violent extremism in Central Asia, with support from the Government of Japan. From 16 to 18 June this year, specialists from Turkmenistan and Italy conducted a joint expedition to the Dashoguz and Lebap velayats to assess the natural and climatic conditions of the region. The aim of the study is to lay the foundations for a new environmental project to be implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan. The project provides for the introduction of innovative solutions to improve the environmental situation, the organisation of training programmes for specialists in the water and agricultural sectors, and the creation of a unified database on water resources in Central Asia. The initiative is being implemented within the framework of the ‘Central Asia - Italy’ dialogue with the support of the State University of Rome, the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the company ‘Sogesid’, which will provide technical assistance. Italian experts plan to use advanced technologies to optimise water use on the Amu Darya and Syr Darya rivers and monitor the state of oasis ecosystems. Turkmen tennis players will compete in U12 Asian Team Championship for the first time

Turkmen tennis players Nazli Hudaykulieva, Sahra Garahanova and Sulgun Ishankulieva made a historic breakthrough by winning silver medals at the Central Asian Championships for girls under 12 in Fergana (Uzbekistan). Deals worth over $32.9 million were concluded on the SCRMET

Last week, 44 deals were concluded at the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan (SCRMET). Business representatives from the UAE, the US, Afghanistan, and Uzbekistan purchased petroleum road bitumen from the state-owned company ‘Türkmennebit’, as well as liquefied gas produced at the ‘Türkmennebit’, ‘Türkmengaz’, and ‘Türkmenhimiýa’ enterprises. This was reported by the online publication ‘Turkmenistan: Golden age’. In addition, flannel products, Portland cement and licorice root extract were sold for foreign currency. The main buyers of these products were companies from the UAE, Turkey and Uzbekistan. The total volume of export transactions exceeded $32.9 million. On the domestic market, Turkmen entrepreneurs purchased terry products, cotton fabrics and yarn, cotton lint, polypropylene, base oil, petroleum bitumen, packaging film (from ‘Türkmennebit’) and technical carbon (from ‘Türkmenhimiýa’). The total value of domestic transactions amounted to over 78.1 million manats.
